Young Athletes Inc.

Young Athletes, Inc. is a youth development agency that provides out of school time services to youth and their families in New York City. Founded in 1997, two professional basketball players invested their own money to support the vision of the youth coach who was instrumental in their own lives. This vision was to provide at-risk youth with constructive activities that not only challenge their physical abilities, but also their minds, picking up where the NYC school system left off. Young Athlete's mission is to help disadvantaged children in New York avoid the detrimental influences of poverty and achieve their full potential. In partnership with parents, schools and other community-based partners, Young Athletes accomplishes its mission by providing comprehensive out of school time programs highlighted by social service and athletic components.
