  • Job Description:

    Temple Beth El in Ithaca, NY is hiring dynamic educators to inspire and guide our children’s Jewish growth. Each of our faculty members serves as dugma, a role model, for our students.

    The ideal candidate is one who is:

    • enthusiastic about their own Jewish practice
    • delighted to be working with children
    • interested in designing and leading multi-sensory learning with intentionally woven Jewish content 
    • quick-thinking and able to adapt to diverse learner needs
    • able to design and lead meaningful lessons on specified curriculum
    • reliable and responsible
    • consistently available during the school year (late August – June) on Sundays from 8:45-12:45 (grades K-7) and on Wednesdays from 3:30-6 pm (for grades 2-7 only)

    Current openings include:

    Kitah Aleph (first grade), Sundays only

    Upper elementary school, Sundays and Wednesdays

     
  • Required Skills/Experience:

    – prior experience working with children

    – either demonstrated teaching skills or significant Judaic knowledge

    – comfort and familiarity with prayers, Hebrew, and traditions
