    Overview

    The Kew-Forest School is a co-educational independent day school located in Forest Hills, Queens, New York that serves a diverse population of approximately 225 students in Preschool (3-year-olds) through Grade 12. Founded in 1918, Kew-Forest is the longest-serving college preparatory school in Queens. Our community nurtures lifelong learners, our educators inspire young people, and our students support each other.

    We seek a skilled and certified Archery Coach for the upcoming winter/spring competitive season, starting immediately. The season typically includes 4 to 6 competitions. (Tentative) Kew-Forest participates in Olympic Archery in Schools and follows USA Archery guidelines.

    Responsibilities include:

    • planning and leading team practices three times per week (maximum 1.5 hours each).
    • teaching and guiding student-athletes in proper archery technique, form, and safety.
    • traveling with and supervising student-athletes at all away games and tournaments.
    • being flexible with the schedule when needed.
    • maintaining clear and proactive communication with team members, parents, and the Athletic Director regarding schedules, changes, and updates.
    • ensuring all student-athletes have arranged transportation to and from games.
    • providing team updates to the Athletic Director.
    • completing all required training courses (e.g. mandated reporter, concussion management, CPR, etc)

    Ideal Candidates Qualifications:

    • Availability on weekdays from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. for practices, with flexibility to depart as early as 2:00 p.m. for away matches.
    • Availability for games and tournaments that occur on the weekend.
    • Current USA Archery Level 1 or 2 Certification.
    • A passion for mentoring student-athletes in a competitive yet supportive environment.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.

    Compensation:

    A seasonal stipend of $2,800- $4,000 commensurate with experience.
