YWCA WNY has a long tradition of delivering comprehensive and high-quality programs and services that foster healthy development and nurture the potential of each child. Serving under-resourced children, youth, and their families in Western New York, our comprehensive Children & Youth Services Department provides educational, social, and emotional wellness services. Programs promote school success, family and community involvement, and reflect the cultural diversity of our participants.
Teachers work with Children & Youth Services team, program staff, and partners to create a program that addresses the individual needs of the children, including educational, developmental, cognitive, emotional, and social emotional needs. Working collaboratively with the Team, implements weekly lesson plans that align with school-day/Common Core and address the student’ academic, social, and emotional development. All staff will maintain compliance with OCFS regulations. Lead Teachers are dynamic individuals who are able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential.
A bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field with at least 2 years of teaching experience preferred; NYS Teacher Certification preferred.
Experience working with under-resourced children and families.
