    UNIONDALE COMMUNITY COUNCIL – Part Time Head of Group (Uniondale, NY)

    Position Description: Highly motivated, independent and creative person wanted to work with students in elementary and middle school settings.

     

    Group Instructor responsibilities will include:

    1. Develop and conduct activities with youth.
    2. Cross trained to know all program areas and placement of related program supplies, records management, and policies & procedures for daily program implementation.
    3. Consulting staff with input to program development, events and special projects initiated by participants and staff.
    4. Responsible for the set up and take down of program room areas in use, supplies and equipment.

     

    Group Instructor is also responsible for:

    1. Data/documentation, attendance checks and required data support.
    2. Maintain consistent attendance on school days for program stability.
    3. Manage starting hour-opening lounges-including daily snack routines and lead small group discussions.
    4. Provide daily feedback to Program and Site Coordinators.

    Program Locations: Uniondale, New York

     

    Must be available to work on/after September 2022

    • Location: Uniondale, New York
    • Compensation: Up to $17 per hour, 15 hours per week

  • Required Skills/Experience:

    Qualifications:

    1. High School Diploma, Associate degree in Education, or CDA (Required)
    2. Two Years direct experience working with children (group work or facilitating workshops a plus).
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.  Must be able to relate to youth and maintain professional boundaries.
    4. Ability to stay organized, assess priorities and take initiative is a must.
    5. Must be available to work 3:00pm- 6:00pm school days.
