  • Job Description:

    We are hiring a Director of Community Science to lead our team in the Bronx! We are seeking someone who has a deep connection to science education and will guide our strategy to address historic inequalities in education and access to science by delivering high-impact programs that respond to the needs expressed by community stakeholders and uphold BioBus’ commitment to the Bronx.   • Required Skills/Experience:
    Knowledge of and high regard for the Bronx community
    • 5 years of professional experience in education or science
    • 2 years experience in a team manager role
    • Ability to communicate effectively with direct reports and colleagues across the organization
    • Track record of leading a performance-and-outcomes based programs or projects, setting and achieving strategic objectives
    • Track record of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken a team to the next level of performance
    • Experience communicating well and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including students, teachers, community organizers, program officers, and elected officials
    • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with foundation and corporate donors and collaborating closely with development staff to raise funds for programs.
    • Experience managing a 6-figure budget, including overseeing expenses and ensuring proper use of restricted funds
    • Dedication and commitment to learning and implementing ideas of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in BioBus programming and within the organization
    • Experience preparing fundraising proposals and budgets
