  • Job Description:

    Our Afterschool Program serves school-aged children between the ages of 5-12 years.  The Group Leader will report to the Director and Site Supervisor during afterschool hours.

    The Group Leader will work directly with one group of 7-15 children during the Program hours. Children are grouped in required age-specific ranges (for example:  Group A – 5 year old; Group B – 6-7 year old; etc.)

    Responsibilites include:

    • Supervise a group of children for their safety & well-being.
    • Proper and regular attendance taking.
    • Daily homework help.
    • Assisting the Activity Coach in daily activity classes.  Activity classes are both active such as soccer, volleyball, fitness, and arts-related such as Art, Music, Perler Beads.
    • Assisting the children with arrival and dismissal.
    • Helping with set up and clean up of the spaces used by the group and/or afterschool program.
    • Appropriate conflict resolution within the group.
    • Ensuring health & safety protocols are maintained.
  • Required Skills/Experience:
    • Must be available during program hours, M-F: 2:00 or 2:15 pm – 6:00 pm.
    • Must follow all Covid-19 health & safety protocols as per the DOE & DOH, including vaccination status.
    • Previous experience working with children ages 5-12.  Babysitting experience or other child care experience accepted.
    • True interest in working with children, guiding and instructing them.
    • Patience, kindness, punctuality, flexibility. Team player.
    • This position begins after all clearances are complete.  This includes mandatory fingerprinting.
    • Will require various mandatory online or in-person trainings throughout the school year.
