OCO’s Education Services is seeking a candidate to provide full, direct services to youth and staff supervision in the After School Program. Candidate will assist youth in building skills that promote academic excellence, social competence and community responsibility.

Duties:

• Supervise after school activities, participants and employees
• Plan/conduct groups and recreational activities for youth
• Assist youth in following program guidelines and reinforce limits and boundaries
• Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of participants, address issues to ensure the health and safety of all, provide case management and linkages to services
• Participate in program improvement activities with staff.
• Empower youth to give input for improvement and voice ideas and concerns responsibly
• Ensure compliance with program and agency policies and procedure as well as state regulations

Candidate must have:

• A sincere desire to work with youth and understand Youth Development
• Demonstrated ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner and be a positive role model for youth and staff
• Knowledge of community services and resources
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships, resolve concerns independently and deal with changing environment

Minimum qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field and
• 1-3 years direct experience working with youth, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program; or Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training relevant to the position.

*Position to start 9/12/2022*

Full Time 30 hours per week – 40 weeks per year

Monday through Friday – 11:30 am to 6 pm
