    About us

    Children’s Arts & Science Workshops is a small business in New York, NY. We are rewarding, fun, inclusive and our goal is to engage at-risk youth in a range of age-appropriate programs and activities that will increase their self-esteem and confidence, and prepare them to participate fully as productive members of society.

    Purpose Statement

    The job of School Program Group Leader is established for the purpose of helping students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by helping and tutoring students in the after-school program.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assists in developing and implementing program activities
    • Contributes to curriculum planning
    • Maintains day-to-day compliance with the after-school program
    • Includes homework assistance, recreational activities, leadership development, education, and career development
    • Leads groups toward their success
    • Reports progress of students to parents in parent engagement events
    • Attends staff meetings and professional development training

    Individual Responsibilities

    • Arrive on time for work or contact the supervisor when delayed
    • Be reliable in attendance and give ample notice for absences
    • Come to work with a positive attitude
    • Approach criticism with a learning attitude
    • Good role model

    Salary

    $18.00 per hour

    Language

    • English and Spanish fluently (Preferred)

    Job Types

    • Part-time/ Seasonal

    Schedule

    • Monday to Friday
    • After School Hours, Summer Camp hours as well if employed for Summer

    Work Location

    In person, sites in the Bronx and Washington Heights

  • Required Skills/Experience:

    Education & Experience

    • High School Diploma required, some college preferred
    • Two years’ experience working with elementary grades students
    • Able to work independently and/or in a team
    • Good communication skills
