Description:

CASW’s mission is to create safe, creative environments where historically underserved and at-risk young people can build confidence, leadership skills, educational skills, and pathways toward productive adulthood. Its programs serve youth from kindergarten through college age.

Its programming includes:

  • Arts and cultural enrichment — visual and performing arts, music, theater, dance, multimedia, and other creative activities.
  • STEM and education — hands-on science, coding, academic support, and enrichment activities.
  • After-school and community programs — including Beacon, COMPASS, SONYC, Cornerstone, and Saturday Night Lights, offering recreation, leadership development, and opportunities for young people to explore interests.
  • Workforce development — programs such as SYEP, Work, Learn & Grow, Ladders for Leaders, and Pathways, which help young people develop resumes, interview skills, workplace skills, and actual employment experience.
  • Summer programming — including Summer Rising enrichment, summer dayprograms, and employment opportunities.

CASW works in partnership with organizations including New York City’s Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and schools throughout the Bronx and Manhattan. Many of its youth programs are offered free of charge to eligible participants.
