  • Job Description:

    The YMCA is currently seeking a Program Director for our Before & After School Programs in Eastchester, NY.

    The Program Director is responsible for the leadership and daily operation of their assigned School Age Child Care sites. This individual is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education of all children within our care. The PD ensures that the needs of the participants and the goals of the program are met appropriately. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the YMCA meets the challenge of being a mission-driven, values-based, community-minded service organization.

    Essential Functions:

    • Child/Parent/Community Management- Develop supportive relationships with participating children and parents; Interact effectively and frequently with children; Effectively communicate with parents/guardians; Interact positively with school administration.
    • Program Management: Follow & implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for school-aged children; Maintain programs to meet/exceed YMCA policies and NYS OCFS Regulations; Attends to the proper maintenance and housekeeping of the program site.
    • Staff/Volunteer Management: Supervise support staff in accordance with YMCA policies; Guide staff to complete job duties and appropriately interact with children

    Required Schedule:

    Monday through Friday; 1:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Required Skills/Experience:

    Education & Skills Required:

    • Associate Degree (or 18 college credits in education)
    • At least 2 years professional child care experience
    • At least 1 year of supervisory experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
