Job Description:

The Assistant Group Leader is responsible to oversee the safety and well-being of a group of 20 school-aged participants in CHCF’s after school programs as a partner with the Group Leader. Assistant Group Leaders must love children, be flexible and understanding, act as a positive role model and be a team player. Assistant Group Leaders are a critical part of the success of the after school program, as they provide direction, comfort, innovation and partnership to the after school program. Assistant Group Leaders are actively engaged in all activities and trips.

 

Essential Job Functions:

Supervision of students

·         Assures all students are safe

·         Act as a positive adult role model

·         Reinforce good communication and respectful behavior

·         Assist participants during homework period

·         Ensure all materials and games stay in good condition and treated with respect

·         Assist Group Leader in maintaining group control

Teamwork

·         Collaborate with Group Leader

·         Assist Group Leader with attendance, reports and other documentation

·         Provide input and ideas to improve and expand after-school programming

·         Communicate with Group Leader, with Site Coordinator, with teachers, with administration, and other school and program staff

·         Attend trainings and meetings when required

·         Actively engaged in all activities and trips

·         Must possess strong listening skills
·         Must be punctual
·         Must demonstrate ability to work well with others
·         Strong background in iOS software highly preferable
·         Knowledgeable in the use and maintenance of iPads
 
Minimum Educational Qualifications
·         Currently enrolled, or recently enrolled in high school or college
 
Experience
·         Some related experience working with children is preferred
 
Schedule

 

·      Monday to Friday afternoons – must be able to make a commitment to being on time every day
