  • Job Description:

    Responsibilities:
    Working under the leadership of the Program Director, the Assistant Director’s responsibilities will include:
    ● Work with Director to ensure implementation of daily program activities and operations.
    ● Establish and maintain relationships with SCS stakeholders such as DYCD, DOE, and local agencies.
    ● Assist with overall supervision of staff, participants and communication with parents.
    ● Assist in scheduling and supervising interns (SYEP; WLG; Volunteers)
    ● Assist with participant recruitment and retention strategies.
    ● Identify and implement curricula for programming that align with DOE standards (i.e. STEM, Literacy, and
    Enrichment); researches and defines educational goals, objectives, and methodologies to meet program
    goals.
    ● Periodically observe line staff and their implementation of lesson plans as well as provide feedback and
    coaching.
    ● Develop and maintain a relationship with designated school personnel and faculty to ensure that our
    program is aligned with school goals and initiatives.
    ● Assist Program Director with meeting contractual requirements that include record keeping, data entry,
    and reporting.
    ● Respond to requests for program data, (from supervisor, agency fiscal department, agency senior
    managers, data manager, and funders, etc.), in a timely fashion
    ● Assist with the planning and implementation of special events and meetings.
    ● Attend and participate in trainings, professional development opportunities, and program meetings.
    ● Ensuring that outreach-related outcomes are being met as dictated by funders
    ● Adhere to all security and privacy protocols.
    ● Ensure the safety of all staff and program participants.
    ● Maintain files and documents for internal and external audits.
    ● In the absence of the Program Director, the Assistant Director will take on program leadership.
    ● Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisor related to program operations and agency initiatives.

  • Required Skills/Experience:

    Qualifications:
    ● Minimum Associate’s Degree and/or 3+ years in a supervisory role.
    ● Experience in community organizing/community engagement, or other forms of direct outreach.
    ● Excellent communication, project management, and multi-tasking skills.
    ● Excellent interpersonal organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
    ● Demonstrated cultural competence with respect to local communities.
    ● Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    ● Proficiency in use of technology (i.e., laptops, computers, tablets).
    ● Bilingual preferred (proficiency, written and spoken).
    ● Knowledge of effective teaching methods and curriculum implementation with afterschool and
    summer camp settings.
