Description:

Fifty percent of young people aged 14-24 have experienced digitally abusive behavior. This training focuses on the high incidence of technological abuse during the developmental stages of adolescence. It will provide tips and insights for working with young survivors of technological abuse with a focus on thoughtful and creative client-focused advocacy practices. By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize both simple and complicated forms of tech abuse;
  • Consider legal and non-legal paths for addressing tech abuse; and
  • Identify emerging forms of abuse and make safety plans for dealing with them.

Understanding Tech Abuse among Youth offers essential information that any professional discussing sexuality with clients can use, but is especially geared toward those working with young people.
