Description:
As more and more grandparents assume responsibility for raising their grandchildren, for a variety of reasons, there are far-reaching implications for what this growing trend may mean for both generations, as well as the communities in which these "new" families live.
Register today for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: The Role of Grandparents in the Lives of Youth and plan to participate in this free webinar on Friday, October 19, 12:00-1:30 p.m. Eastern.
Cornell University and Extension faculty will describe a unique study developed to better understand families in which grandparents are raising teenaged grandchildren. Learn how adolescent development is impacted for teens being raised by grandparents. Learn about Parenting A Second Time Around (PASTA), a successful program developed by Cornell Cooperative Extension for working with grandparents raising grandchildren.
Participants will gain insight into the dynamics in these families, as well as the strengths, challenges and he idiosyncrasies of this unique group. Ample opportunities for discussion and interaction with the presenters will be provided through this free webinar sponsored by the CYFERnet Parent/Family Editorial Board.
