Job Title:Youth Development Professional

Location(s):Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area After School Programs (15 locations in Albany and Troy )

Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) work directly with youth focusing on enrichment activities ranging from; dance, sports, art, STEM and many more! Interviews are held daily!

Qualifications and Skills

Position Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must posses High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year working with youth age 5-12 in after school or similar setting
  • Must be available Monday - Friday, Hours: 3.5 hours between 2 - 7 pm; specific hours vary by site
  • Flexibility with college class schedule


  • Strong Verbal and Written communication; both to children, fellow staff and to parents.
  • Basic Computer Skills – Email, Word processing and internet navigation
  • Maintain attendance and snack records.
  • Leadership Skills- Must be able to facilitate activities and motivate youth
  • Personal conduct must be one of high moral standards; honest, trustworthy, compassionate, encouraging, hardworking, team player, self-motivated, puts children first above personal needs!
