Job Description:

•Develop job and internship opportunities with strong mentoring components for unemployed and underemployed youth by building strong relations with employers in the private and non-profit sectors •Demonstrates to employers the effectiveness and profitability of employing un/underemployed youth. •Visit internship worksites consistently to maintain quality assurance, to monitor worksite status, support retention, and assist payroll. •Provides on-going retention services and support to both employer and client. •Verifies and tracks employment placement documentation •Leads seminars and workshops relevant to participants’ work experience needs. •Monitor and report any internship/worksite issues or violations to proper staff. •Complete monitoring reports for each internship / worksite assigned to caseload. •Enter worksite data as it pertains to payroll and evaluation into appropriate databases. Participate in intern and worksite supervisors’ orientations. •Administrative duties as necessary and other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

Required Skills/Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree required or 4+ years’ equivalent experience •Two years related experience in job development, business to business relations, human resources, recruitment, sales, marketing, or fund raising. Customer service experience required. •Passion for youth and community development; understanding of how positive early work experiences create successful future career pathways. •Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. •Past experience working with a Young Adult Internship Program (YAIP), Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) or other Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) program a plus •An understanding of workforce development systems, relevant social services resources, college prep, HSE programming and/or sector-specific skills training preferred. •Ability to travel independently throughout NYC via public transportation. •Strong marketing and communication skills •Ability to make deadlines in a fast-paced environment
