ESS’s non-sectarian work focuses on strengthening children, families and adults through programs in foster care and adoption, early childhood education, after-school initiatives, and group homes for developmentally disabled adults.

Position Overview:

ESS seeks a part time tutor for our after school program responsible for providing instruction and academic guidance to students pursuing their high school diplomas. This position requires a dedicated and patient individual who can enhance the educational endeavors of the students and provide them with quality services.

Key Essential Functions:

·         Monitor and evaluate students’ progress

·         Create educational plans to adapt to the varying needs of the students

·         Collaborate with teachers to align tutoring sessions with classroom curriculum

·         Prepare students for standardized testing (including Regents exams)

Position Qualifications:

·         High school diploma required

·         Working towards a college degree desired

·         Ability to work flexible hours

·         Prior experience working with adolescents and young adults in group and individual settings
