Job Description:
As a member of the site leadership team, the Program Director (PD) will report directly to the Assistant Executive Director for Youth and Family Services (AsED) and will manage the PS 199 COMPASS site in close collaboration with the Education Specialist. The PD is primarily responsible for program operations in the areas of budgeting; data collection and management; site management inclusive of student recruitment and retention; and administration. This role is the key point person responsible for engaging and working with the school leadership and funders and agency management. The PD also manages the day to day operations of the K-6 program interfacing with participants and stakeholders in a manner that promotes safety and compliance with funding parameters. The PD must be an active member of the Sunnyside Community Services Youth and Family Services Team and demonstrate a strong commitment to youth development and the agency’s overall commitment to community building. Requirements: • Availability during program hours. The COMPASS 199 program operates from Monday through Friday 2:30pm-6pm during the school year and full days during Summer. The program is also open during 13 school holidays. Administrative hours take place before and sometimes after program hours. • Knowledge of budgeting and budget management • Bachelor’s degree is required • Ability to meet background and educational requirement to serve as Site Director on the program’s SACC license • Experience in program operations for programs that serve youth and families • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills • Cleared background check indicating ability to work with children. • Current CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment. • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Explorer. • Sense of humor with an ability to be flexible. • Prior supervisory experience in a similar setting.
