Job Description:

 Program Overview and Position Description:

The Assistant Group Leader assists with the implementation and development of daily activities for 20/25 participants, ages 6-10 years old, in New Settlement Apartments Multi-Cultural After School Program.  The program balances academic enrichment and leadership development through hand-on projects and theme-based learning that encourages critical thinking and creativity.

Required Skills/Experience:

 Experience, Education & Skills Required: Applicants must have experience working with youth (volunteer work will be considered).  Some knowledge of or interest in the arts, science, engineering, mathematics, healthy living and physical education required.  Applicants must have experience assisting in the development of elementary-school level activities for children; have strong planning and organizational skills; team leadership, behavioral management, and conflict resolution skills. Teamwork and hands-on teaching ability is a must. Undergraduate college students preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

 

Salary and Benefits Offered:

The position is a part-time position M-F from 2:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Hourly Rate: $11.25.  Must be available for 13 school holidays from 8:00-6:00 p.m. Starting date: As soon as possible
