Reports to : After School Director (Manager)
Here’s where you come in:
In the role of a Project Gametime After School Coordinator, you are directly responsible for providing supervision and a safe social and emotional space to youth in partnering organizations
Specifically you will:
  • Plan, organize, promote and provide leadership to the PGT After School program
  • Hire, schedule, train coaches and mentors staff during program hours.
  • Maintains all state and local regulations and ratios.
  • Executes administrative duties including, but not limited to payroll, reviews, staff meetings, branch meetings, brochure material preparation, program registration, incident reports etc.
  • In conjunction with the supervisor, develops program budgets.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping (ie:  billing, medical cards, attendance, rosters)
  • Ensure adequate and appropriate program supplies are on-hand.
  • Communicates effectively with staff, program participants, families and volunteers.
  • Coordinates program registrations and special events.
  • Ensure positive discipline practices are being used within all areas of the programs.
  • On a daily basis actively engage with the day-to-day operations of the programs.
  • Coordinate and monitor bus transportation to ensure all children are transported to and from program and schools following DOE bus procedures. (if applicable)
  • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.

Required Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma, (BA Preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in an After School setting leading activities and developing lesson plans.
  • Monitor purchases and inventory of all program related expenses; prepare and monitor program budgets, payroll and other management tasks.
  • Maintain registration, attendance, surveys and questionnaires, and comply with School Age Child Care (SACC), Department of Education (DOE), Department of Health and Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) requirements.
  • Ensure input of data in all databases (DYCD) and others, and submit report in a timelmanner. 
  • Strong content knowledge of engaging recreational and artistic activities for youth.
  • Thorough knowledge of classroom management, behavior management, and positive youth development principles.
  • Interest in providing quality hands-on theme based projects, and recreation experiences to youth in grades K-12 
  • Experience preparing program participants for sharing, culminating events, and exhibits.
  • Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds in school and community center settings.
  • Strong professionalism with the ability to take on multiple responsibilities, be flexible, and possess a positive team-oriented attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of the after school program model with the ability to enforce program expectations and department policies.
  • Passionate about providing quality artistic and recreational experiences to youth of all ages.
  • Must be able to work five days a week Monday-Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, and on select holidays from 8:00am-6:00pm.
  • Co-teach with other specialist in the classroom and lead groups if necessary
  • Find/Create opportunities for students to learn and build upon their skills and interests.
  • Maintain records of all participants and activities including attendance sheets and progress within the activity.
